Scott Brooks played point guard while playing collegiately at San Joaquin Delta College and Texas Christian University, before finishing his final two years at the University of California, Irvine. He was later inducted into UCI's Hall of Fame in 2001.
In 2008, Brooks was named the interim head coach of the Thunder. The next year, he became the full time head coach and was named the 2009-2010 NBA Coach of the Year. In 2012 and 2014, Brooks was named the Western Confernce All Star Coach for the All Star game. In 2015 he was fired by the Thunder after winning 338 games as their Head Coach which at that time was third in all time wins in the franchise history.
