Fred Lynn graduated from El Monte High School in California and went on to star at USC (1970-1973) where he played on NCAA Championship teams all three years. Fred was inducted into the the USC Hall of Fame in 1996.

Fred played for five teams over his illustrious 17 year professional baseball career - (1974-80) Boston Red Sox, (1981-84) California Angels, (1985-88) Baltimore Orioles, (1988-89) Detroit Tigers, (1990) San Diego Padres. At the time of his retirement, his 306 career home runs placed him behind only Willie Mays, Ken Griffey, Jr., Mickey Mantle, Duke Snider, Dale Murphy, Joe DiMaggio, Jim Edmonds, and Andruw Jones among center fielders. Over his career, he batted .283 with 1111 RBI, 1960 hits, 1063 runs, 388 doubles, 43 triples, and 72 stolen bases in 1969 games.
