As part of the society’s commitment to DE&I, the Annual Meeting for The American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM) featured a Keynote Fireside Chat with Heisman Trophy winner and NFL great Eddie George, who had just recently become the Head Coach of Tennessee State University Football team. While the conversation focused on the many facets of his exceptional career on and off the football field, it poignantly focused on the value and importance of DE&I as a player, coach, and sports medicine professional.
Eddie signed autographs for some of the VIP guests before his Moderated QA. Eddie shared so many stories from his amazing Ohio State career to his legendary NFL career with the Tennessee Titans. The conversation focused on his mentors, his parents, overcoming adversity, teamwork, leadership and the sacrifice it takes to be great.
