Ronde is one of the most popular Tampa Bay Buccaneers players ever. He was drafted in the 3rd round of the 1997 NFL draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers out of the University of Virginia. His twin brother, Tiki was a star running back for the New York Giants.
A premier cover corner and arguably the best tackler and toughest defender on one of the NFL's best defenses, he is a throw-back player who prides himself on making plays against the run and pass. He started in every game at right cornerback as a key defensive playmaker for the Super Bowl XXXVII champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was named the NFL Alumni Defensive Back of the Year in 2001.
On December 11, 2005 in a game against the Carolina Panthers he became the first cornerback in the history of the NFL to record at least 20 interceptions and 20 sacks. He became the seventh member of the 20/20 club joining linebackers Seth Joyner, Wilber Marshall, William Thomas and Ray Lewis and safeties Rodney Harrison and LeRoy Butler. He retired from the NFL in 2013.
