Kathy Smith is a personal trainer who became well known for her workout videos during the 1990s. She has sold millions of videos and DVDs. Her first video was released in 1990.
Kathy lost her father from a heart attack when she was 17, and lost her mother in a plane crash. The tragedy in her life lead her to start running and doing aerobics. In college, she studied dance kinesiology, exercise physiology and nutrition. She went through a program at UCLA and became certified with IDEA and AFA as a fitness trainer.
Kathy has produced and starred in numerous best-selling exercise videos, with over sixteen million copies sold. She invented the Air Bench step trainer and is also co-developer of Kathy Smith Fit-Caps, a line of additive-free vitamins.
